It goes without saying that I think Austin deserves to be in this top 10 list. Five years ago, Austin probably wasn't even thought of as anything near a Beer City. However, with Austin becoming such a local-centric city around its food and beer, it's easy to see Austin on this kind of list. With around 15 active breweries/brewpubs in and around Austin, Austinites can be proud to live in a city that takes its beer seriously.

Cheers!

  1. The list is lacking a lot of credibility by putting us ahead of Chicago and San Diego and not even including Portland, OR in it's top 20. Houston shouldn't be anywhere near this list either.

  3. While I agree San Diego should be higher on the list, I think it's not only the beer itself, but the city and its surroundings. With 6th St., and Austin being the live music capital of the world, there are a lot of places to see and things to do while enjoying a local beer. Lists aren't going to be perfect, and most will be subjective.

That being said, I'm still damn glad Austin made the Top 10! Cheers!
